VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF

There are more than 1200 volunteer positions. Literally thousands of hours are donated every month by devoted volunteers. Chapter Coordinators coordinate the work of the local chapters, liaison persons assist in matching and nurturing the volunteer friends. Home coordinators acquaint the volunteer friends with the 'home' and the resident to whom they are assigned. Local chapter board members meet monthly to plan the work of the chapter. The Board of Directors meets monthly to plan and direct the overall program. The paid staff consists of two staff persons. There are additional purchased services such as computer technician and bookkeeping.

CHRISTIAN BASED AND ECUMENICAL

FRIEND TO FRIEND links its concern to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, working ecumenically through the Christian churches in the development and management of the program. Recognizing the concern in this area is shared by all of us, participation in the program as a volunteer friend is OPEN TO EVERYONE regardless of religious affiliation. FRIEND TO FRIEND is one of the largest ecumenical Christian volunteer programs in the area in terms of numbers of people involved. This has provided an exceptional opportunity for Christian churches to work together in a spirit of unity and concern. Christians of many persuasions have become bound together in this common ministry in a way they have never before experienced. The Lord's hand in this effort is truly evident.
